The government of Kamchatka Krai and telecommunication company Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) signed an agreement for strategic partnership projects in digital transformation of the economy during the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, which took place on September 4-6 on the Russky Island in Vladivostok.
The agreement provides, in particular, the introduction of a «smart lighting system» in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which will enable streetlights to be switched on only at dusk or darkness and in case there are people on the street. This will save money on electricity.
The signed document provides the introduction of the city infrastructure monitoring system. This will make it possible to monitor the condition of supporting walls in real time and prevent their collapse during natural disasters.
In the Far East, Kamchatka’s tourist flows will be analyzed with the help of «Big Data» tools, for the first time ever. The data received by the telecommunication company will help to determine the number of tourists, regions and countries from which they arrive, as well as places and routes popular among the guests.
