Vienna Leads The List Of The Best Cities In The World To Live

Vienna has proved its title of the best city in the world in terms of quality of life and for the second year running has topped the rankings of the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The Austrian capital has surpassed the Australian megacities Melbourne and Sydney in the ranking comprising 140 cities globally. Experts have assessed and compared the quality of life in the cities taking into account several factors: stability of development, culture, ecology, health care, education and infrastructure.

Vienna has received 99.1 points that is 0.7 points more than Melbourne which is followed by Sydney (Australia), Osaka (Japan), Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto (Canada), Tokyo (Japan), Copenhagen (Denmark), and Adelaide (Australia).

Moscow, the capital of Russia, has scored 80 points out of 100 possible and has become the leader in the top five cities which have shown the greatest improvement in their performance in the ranking over the year.

Previously, for several years Vienna was awarded the title of the most comfortable city for life according to the Mercer consulting company.
