The Mos.ru project has published the interactive map of streets in Moscow named after prominent scientists. Behind each name is a story of their scientific discoveries.
There are more than 180 streets on the map. According to the authors of the project, that is the number of streets and squares in Moscow named after scientists.
«Over 180 streets, avenues, lanes and squares in the capital citybear the names of people whose research and discoveries have advanced world science and changed mankind’s life. They are gifted physicists and geographers, historians and mathematicians, chemists and biologists, as well as travelers and inventors», — has explained the authors of the map.
On the map, you can choose one of Moscow’s districts and see which streets and squares on its territory are named after scientists. For example, there are ten such streets in the Southern Administrative District: Arshinov Street, Bekhterev Street, Vavilov Street, Academician Vishnevsky Square, Kolobashkin Street and others.
